Have your say on Hull’s new Local Plan

Those who live, work, study or own businesses and land in Hull are invited to take part in helping to shape the city’s future through the next phase its new Local Plan.

The Local Plan directly affects the lives of everyone who reside, works, visits or studies in Hull through housing, jobs, the environment and transport – in other words, day-to-day life.

Following on from last year’s consultation, which provided the opportunity for the public to share their priorities for the city, Hull City Council wants now to understand which priority should be focused on first.

This could be tackling climate change, meeting diverse housing needs, supporting healthcare or creating opportunities for all.

The current Local Plan for Hull was created in 2017 and the city has undergone significant change in that period, with the new proposals set to shape its future over the next 15 years.

Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for economic renewal and housing at the council, said: “The Local Plan will directly affect the lives of everyone in Hull for many years to come.

“The ideas and opinions of the public are crucial to shaping the new Local Plan to ensure we meet the priorities of those in our city.

“I urge everyone with a connection to Hull to take part in the public engagement exercise.”
