A series of drop-in events will be held in Hull next month to allow residents to discuss their options when it comes to their funeral.
Hull City Council has launched a new campaign called ‘Get Your Wishes in Order’.
It aims to normalise the process of talking about death, which can help ensure that people have clear instructions for what should happen when they are gone.
Visitors to the drop-in events can collect a folder, which they can fill in to let those who will organise their funeral know what they would want at their service.
Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for communities and community safety, Councillor Ted Dolman, said: “The death of a loved one is difficult enough without having to try to figure out what they might have wanted for their funeral service.
“Our ‘Get Your Wishes in Order’ campaign allows people to write down what they want, whether it be songs they’d like to be played, or perhaps colours they’d like people to wear.
“By filling in the simple to use folders available during our drop-in events, people can greatly help their family and friends to make arrangements for their final journey.”
