Essential work to repair Merrick Street will begin on Monday 22 February.
The work will take place for five weeks, and a diversion route will be in place via Thomas Street, Holderness Road and Williamson Street.
Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways and Hull City Council, said: “To allow the road to be resurfaced safely, a temporary closure will be in place.
“We apologise in advance and ask that motorists are patient while we carry out these essential repairs.”
Access for businesses and pedestrians will be available throughout the duration of the works.
The work will be carried out by PBS Ltd.
