Chocolate eggs bring Easter cheer to city’s most vulnerable residents

Hundreds of Easter eggs are being delivered to vulnerable residents across the city in a bid to bring some Easter cheer.

More than 800 chocolate eggs have been handed out to care homes, children’s centres and charities including the Hull Resettlement Project, Sanctuary Housing, the city’s extra-care facilities and charity Hull & East Yorkshire Mind.

The chocolate eggs were donated by ambulance staff to the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group in Hull, with Hull City Council’s Streetscene staff offering to deliver the treats to residents across Hull.

Alison Barker, director of adult social care at Hull City Council, said: “We coordinated this effort with our health partners who have been working hard to tackle the coronavirus pandemic and decided that now would be an ideal time to try to bring smiles to the faces of some of our most vulnerable residents.

“We understand that this is a difficult time for many as we try and navigate this new reality, but our priority is to ensure that we can continue to support our most vulnerable residents across the city.”

A Hull helpline has also been launched to support those most in need and residents can access this additional support by calling 01482 300307. Read more here.
