HEY! Volunteering to spread positivity on Random Acts of Kindness Day

Members of HEY! Volunteering will be spreading kindness and the ‘big blue wave of positivity’ which the group embodies this weekend as it celebrates Random Acts of Kindness Day.

Those out and about in Hull city centre on Saturday 17 February could be surprised with a random act of kindness by a blue coated volunteer which will help to brighten their day.

This could be something as simple as handing out bunches of flowers or free hot drink vouchers, as well as leaving motivational notes to find.

HEY! Volunteers have participated in smaller events in the past, but not on this scale and it is hoped that their random acts of kindness will inspire others to do likewise.

Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure at Hull City Council and HEY! Volunteer, said: “HEY! Volunteering does fantastic work in promoting our city and the region and offering a helping hand to residents and visitors alike.

“Members are full of positivity and this is a wonderful initiative they are taking part in.

“People in Hull city centre on Saturday could have their days brightened by a random act of kindness and hopefully that positivity and generosity will spread to others.”

HEY! Volunteering will also be performing random acts of kindness in Beverley and Bridlington on the same day.
