Skills Bootcamps Hull & East Riding celebrated its recent successes at its first awards ceremony.
Hull Minster played host to the event which saw awards handed out to delivery partners, employers and learners from Waves 4 and 5 of the Skills Bootcamps.
Delivery partner awards included tutor of the year and collaborative partnership of the year, whilst learner awards featured outstanding achievement and most improved.
All delivery partners, as well as nominated and winning learners, were invited, with local businesses and employers also in attendance.
Alex Codd, assistant director for economic development and regeneration at Hull City Council, gave a speech on Skills Bootcamps’ history, before Adam Wilson, senior lead business development & contracting at the council, discussed the promising future ahead.
The council recently accepted a record-breaking £10 million of funding for Wave 6 of Skills Bootcamps Hull & East Riding.

Alex Codd said: “Well done to all those nominated and winners, you are all key to the tremendous success in both the latest and previous waves of Skills Bootcamps.
“It has been a pleasure working with providers, businesses and learners.
“The record-breaking funding for Wave 6 will further improve the reach of the bootcamps and is testament to our continued commitment to supporting training providers and enabling learners to thrive and to gain the skills they need to meet the employment and business opportunities of tomorrow.”

Award winners included:
Collaborative Partnership of the Year – North Humberside Motor Trades GTA
Achievement Rate Excellence – Ideal Heating Expert Academy
Learner of the Year – Jamie Drinkwater, Skills Bootcamp in HGV Driving with SJP Driver Training
Tutor of the Year – Richard Pedge, teaches Skills Bootcamp in Construction at HM Prison Hull
