Fire Safety Reassurance Statement

As a consequence of the recent events in Hong Kong, Hull City Council wanted to provide positive assurance, as your landlord, that we are focussed on keeping our high-rise buildings safe for our residents.

All of our high-rise buildings have fire safety measures installed, which include fire doors (communal and flat entrance doors), an emergency lighting system and fire extinguishers.

Our dedicated Building Safety Team and High-Rise Tenancy Management Team are responsible for the management and improvement of safety in all of Hull’s high-rise flats, and the day-to-day tenancy and estate management of the buildings.

Routine inspections ensure that safety measures in place are effective, our communal areas remain sterile, and any defects or building safety hazards are reported or removed.

Our annual fire safety leaflet contains useful advice and guidance in relation to the prevention of fires and what to do in an emergency.  The leaflet is available here on the Hull City Council website Fire safety in flats | Hull , and all residents of our high-rise buildings receive a printed copy.

If you have any concerns or queries in relation to fire safety in your building, or your circumstances have changed resulting in you requiring assistance to evacuate the building in the event of an emergency, please contact us:
