Hull City Council is working to improve neighbourhoods across the city.
Alongside this, we are tackling long-term empty homes. Over the last year, the Council has bought 10 long-term empty properties in the area to create a real uplift in the community.
We are refurbishing them and bringing them back into use for local families. These properties had often been empty for a long time and were in very poor condition, which can lead to trespass, fly-tipping and ongoing problems for neighbours. Refurbishing long-term empty homes can take time because the level of disrepair is often significant. But bringing them back into use helps improve streets, reduces blight, and means more homes are available for people who need them.

If you own an empty property and need advice, please get in touch. If you know of a home that has been empty for a long time and is causing concern, you can report it to the Council by emailing Housing.Standards@hullcc.gov.uk
