Council tenants in Hull have the chance to apply for a bursary of up to £500 to fund education, training, job opportunities and personal development.
The Unlocking Success Bursary, awarded by Northern Housing Consortium, supports people who live in social housing to meet some of the costs of pursuing their goals.
The funding can help to pay for course fees, childcare, travel to interviews or training, equipment such as laptops, or other living expenses.
Since launching in 2019, the bursary has supported more than 100 tenants, helping them to build confidence, gain qualifications, find new jobs or achieve ambitions.
Northern Housing Consortium works with social housing landlords, including Hull City Council, to identify tenants who would benefit from the bursary and support them to apply.
Here’s how the application process works:
- Contact the Tenant Participation Team at tenant.resident@hullcc.gov.uk, explaining why you would like to apply and how you would use the bursary
- You will need to record a short video or write a brief statement about your plans
- The Tenant Participation Team will submit the application on your behalf
- Successful applicants will be contacted by Northern Housing Consortium by September
Anyone who wants to apply should get in touch with the Tenant Participation Team by Friday 26 June.
