Hull City Council has published its Neighbourhoods and Housing Annual Report 2025/26, highlighting a year of significant investment in homes, neighbourhoods and services for residents across the city.
During the year, the council delivered 22,962 improvements to existing homes, completed 132 new council homes and progressed work on hundreds more as part of its ambitious Housing Growth Plan.
The report also highlights continued investment in keeping residents safe, including 5,900 home condition surveys, 100 per cent completion of required fire risk assessments and 99.99 per cent gas safety compliance.
Supporting residents and communities remained a key priority. The council secured more than £714,000 in financial support for tenants, expanded its supply of temporary accommodation and reduced spending on privately owned temporary accommodation by 83 per cent.
Tenant feedback also continues to shape services. Ten out of 12 Tenant Satisfaction Measures were above the latest national averages used for comparison, while the council has identified areas where further improvement is needed, including repairs, communication and tackling anti-social behaviour.
The report sets out achievements across 2025/26 as well as the council’s priorities for the year ahead, including delivering more affordable homes, preventing homelessness and continuing to improve existing council homes.
