Residents in Hull who receive a blue budge for parking exemptions are reminded to check their expiry dates.
Motorists who receive a blue badge are required to renew their passes if the expiry date has passed 30 September 2020.
From Wednesday 1 October 2020, out-of-date passes will no longer be accepted by the authority as a valid exemption.
Warning notices to remind motorists of this change will be issued until Saturday 31 October. Any expired badges found after this date are likely to be issued with a penalty charge notice.
Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for Streetscene services, said: “From the beginning of the month, the hold on enforcement of expired blue badges has come to an end and will no longer be accepted as a valid form of exemption.
“For now, the authority will continue to honour expired badges to the end of October 2020 to enable disabled badge holders to get any expired badges renewed.
“There may be a slight delay in processing applications due to the current situation, so we encourage blue badge holders to make an application as soon as possible. The quickest way to do this is online.”
Make an online application for a new blue badge here, or call 01482 300300 to make a telephone appointment to renew their badge eight weeks prior to the expiry date.
Please do not attend in person to try and apply for a badge as offices are not doing face-to-face appointments.
