Letters to my Younger Self exhibition is now on display at Hull Central Library until the end of March.
The exhibition features letters from women in Hull who want to inspire and empower other women. The letters are personal reflections and advice that each woman would give to her younger self, with the aim of inspiring others to overcome issues and step out of their comfort zone.
Councillor Hester Bridges, Chair of Hull’s Health and Wellbeing Board, is one of the women involved. She said: “As Hull’s Women’s Week comes to an end, we want to continue to focus on inspiring women to follow their goals and aspirations, and also to inspire and empower others to do the same.”
Julia Weldon writes to her younger self
Women with different career paths, including Julia Weldon, Hull City Council’s Director of Public Health, Emma Latimer, Chief Officer of NHS Clinical Commissioning Group and Professor Susan Lea, Vice-Chancellor of Hull University hope their letters will provide the wisdom, advice and warm words to inspire other women in the city.
Women visiting the exhibition are encouraged to write letters to their younger selves and post them in the box within Central Library. A selection of letters will be used in future exhibitions.
