Plans have now been submitted for a European-style food hall inside the former House of Fraser building.
Plans include a dining area with communal tables and food market stalls from local independent food and beverage retailers.
The plans, submitted by building-owners Hammonds of Hull alongside operators Artisan Food Hall Hull, could create 40 full-time and 80 part-time jobs.

Last month, Hull property firm Garness Jones was hired to oversee the redevelopment of the building and find businesses to take up space across the basement, ground and first floors of the building.
