Hull City Council has been shortlisted for a high-profile national award.
The local authority is up for Council of the Year at the Local Government Chronicle’s LGC Awards in March next year.
The council has also been shortlisted in the Housing Initiative and Public/Private Partnership categories.
Chief executive Matt Jukes said: “The vital contribution that local government workers make in supporting our people and our place is not recognised enough.
“Not only do these national awards raise the profile of our great work in Hull with our colleagues across the wider public sector, they also provide a big boost for those people who do such tremendous work for the council.

“There are strong entries from local authorities right across the country into all award categories, so being shortlisted as a finalist is a significant achievement in itself and I would like to congratulate everyone involved.
The council’s place on the shortlist in the Housing Initiative category is for the Neighbourhoods and Housing Service’s Shared Accommodation Project.
And the City Economic Development and Regeneration Service has been shortlisted in the Public/Private Partnership category for its Living with Water partnership with East Riding Council, Yorkshire Water and the Environment Agency.
