Hull City Council’s annual fund for arts organisations has reopened, with the application details now live on the council’s website.

The Grants to Arts Organisational Fund is available to organisations whose primary focus is culture and who are within the Hull boundary.

Eligible organisations can apply for a grant of between £5,000 and £20,000 for a 12-month programme of work which:

  • increases arts opportunities available to local communities
  • embeds inclusivity and diversity in your work
  • promotes innovation and excellence
  • develops local artistic talent
  • develops regional, national and international networks

Grants to Arts is an annual fund that supports activities across the city, ranging from theatre to music, visual and outdoor arts.

Previous awardees are Artlink, Silent Uproar and Concrete Youth. The fund totals £80,000 and is highly competitive.

Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure said: “The council’s Grants to Arts Organisations is an annual fund that provides support to cultural organisations in delivering culture in their communities.

“The fund helps organisations to have a fantastic impact across the city, with residents able to enjoy a whole host of cultural events.”

“We have worked to retain this fund, as we recognise the role of smaller arts organisations, or those who are not Arts Council National Portfolio Organisations, in the delivery of the Culture & Heritage Strategy.

“This is an annual fund that provides support to cultural organisations in delivering culture in their communities.”
