The traditional Lord Mayor At Home event is to take on a festive feel this year, as Councillor Cheryl Payne will welcome guests to Hull’s Guildhall shortly before Christmas.
The annual occasion is a chance to meet the Lord Mayor and Admiral of the Humber in the magnificent setting of the Banqueting Hall.
It will take place this year on Saturday 13 December between 12:30pm and 2pm.
Tickets are available free of charge, and there will be the opportunity to enjoy some cake and a cuppa in the company of the Lord Mayor.
She said: “I do enjoy meeting people at the many events I attend across the city, but it’s also a real joy when we can welcome people to our historic Guildhall as well.
“The At Home event is usually held earlier in the civic year, but I wanted to make it extra special for 2025 by having it close to Christmas.
“I dare say there might be one or two mince pies on offer!”
The event will feature a Christmas singalong led by the Hull Male Voice Choir, as well as a raffle, tombola and book sale.
Proceeds will go to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund, which is this year benefitting STAND and One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire.
Tickets – which are free – are available from the Civic Office on 01482 615 093 or via civic.office@hullcc.gov.uk.
It will be a busy festive period for the Lord Mayor, as the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Tree Festival returns to Hull Minster this December.
