A previous Lord Mayor's Christmas Tree Festival at Hull Minster

“Let’s make it the biggest one yet!” – Lord Mayor’s Christmas Tree Festival returns

Businesses, community organisations and schools across Hull and the surrounding area are being invited to help make the 2025 Lord Mayor’s Christmas Tree Festival the biggest and best one yet.

Hull Minster will once again host the annual tradition, which runs throughout most of the Christmas month of December, where admission is FREE.

The Lord Mayor, Councillor Cheryl Payne, will officially open the Festival when she visits the Minster on Tuesday 2 December.

The decorated trees will remain on show until Christmas Eve.

The Lord Mayor, above, said: “I really hope we can get companies, community groups and schools from right across our region involved in this year’s Christmas Tree Festival.

“My chosen charities benefit from the proceeds raised, as we look to raise some money for some really good causes and spread some Christmas cheer along the way.

“I know that we’ve had some really terrific and creative trees during the Festival in the past, so I’m challenging people across Hull and beyond to see what they can come up with this year.

“Let’s make it the biggest one yet!”

Anyone can be part of the Festival, whether a business, community organisation, school or college – or individuals can decorate a tree by themselves.

A donation of a minimum of £10 per tree is asked for.

Proceeds raised from the Festival will go to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund, which this year is benefitting  STAND and One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire.

Decorators must provide their own tree, which should be taken away after the event.

Trees can be set up at Hull Minster on Monday 1 December from 10am to 4pm, and can then be taken down on Monday 5 January from 10am to 4pm.

Any lights used must be battery-operated only.

All are welcome to visit the Festival at Hull Minster, which has general opening hours of 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.

Entry to the Minster for visitors is free.
