Chance for residents to raise antisocial behaviour issues

Not Where I Live Week launches on Monday, to shine a spotlight on community issues and give residents the chance to raise problems. Pop-in sessions, patch walks, drop-in surgeries and more will be taking place over the course of the week. Council teams including Neighbourhood Nuisance, Neighbourhoods and Housing and Streetscene will be working with partners including Safer Hull, the Fire Service, and police,  throughout the week to help communities protect themselves from antisocial behaviour and learn how and when to report it.

Cllr Mike Ross, Leader of Hull City Council, said: “Creating safe and welcoming neighbourhoods is one of our priorities now, and for the coming decade. We know how important this is to people, and part of it is ensuring we tell people about the help available and how to get it.

“Every year, our own teams and partners in the city work together throughout ‘Not Where I Live’ Week to organise a huge amount of outreach and engagement work, right in the heart of Hull communities. While work happens every day of the year, this focus week is always a great opportunity to build relationships, educate people on the great community support we have, and provide extra opportunities to tell us about any issues.

“Whether you’re familiar with our teams and partners, or have never spoken to us before, this is a chance to report, ask questions and get to know the people working to make our streets safe for everyone. There are surgeries, door-knocks and drop ins, as well as council officers and police out and about in different neighbourhoods across the city all week. If you’re not able to make it to one of the events, you’re encouraged to make a report online or over the phone.”

They have nineteen enforcement officers working across the city and work closely with Humberside Police to resolve and tackle problems faced by individuals and communities.
