Hull Fostering is proud to announce its collaboration with over 120 local authorities in the creation of an inspiring new short film, Everything, which highlights the profound difference fostering can make in the lives of children.
The film, released at 12noon on Thursday 17 October, takes viewers on a heartfelt journey down memory lane, depicting the lifelong impact of a foster carer’s dedication and care.
The story of Everything centres on a foster carer celebrating his 60th birthday at a surprise party. Attendees include two adults, Will and Zara, who Mike and his wife fostered during their childhood. During the celebration, these adults share their moving stories of how their lives were transformed by the compassion, stability, and love they received from their foster carers. Their heartfelt gratitude illustrates how fostering truly changed the trajectory of their lives, turning what once seemed like impossible challenges into stories of success and resilience.
The concluding message of the film is that what someone does with their life could forever change someone else’s, and it encourages people to foster to make that change.
Jayne Betts, Fostering Group Manager at Hull Fostering, said: “Foster care has the power to change everything for a child. It provides a safe, nurturing environment where children can heal, grow, and find their true potential. The bond between a foster carer and a child can be the foundation upon which a child builds a brighter future.”
“This short film serves as a powerful reminder of the long-term impact that a foster carer’s love and support can have on a child’s life. It is crucial that we continue to share these stories to show how fostering offers not just a safe place to stay, but a chance for a better life. Our hope is that more people will be inspired to open their homes and hearts to children in need.”
