Vegan market a ‘huge success’

Hundreds of people descended upon Trinity Market earlier this month for a fantastic celebration of vegan food and products.

The market was part of a Trinity After Dark event, where the Old Town’s Trinity Market stays open into the night.

This time local independent vegan food and product retailers were invited to gather under one roof.

There were stalls selling a range of delicious vegan food, including Vietnamese cuisine, cakes, desserts and the famous Hull pattie, as well as vegan beauty, homeware and clothing products.

There was also fantastic live acoustic music, and beer from Hull brewery Atom.

The event aimed to show that veganism is an option all year round, rather than just during ‘Veganuary’.

Lucy Lines, Trinity Market manager, said: “The Trinity After Dark vegan market was a huge success with lots of local independent vegan food and product retailers all under one roof.

“The support was phenomenal and we got some fantastic feedback through the night. Although many people who attended were vegan, dairy-free or vegetarian, many people said they weren’t vegan but chose to attend to broaden their taste buds, become more mindful of how food is produced and grow their culinary interests.”

Following the success of the event earlier this month, Trinity Market hopes to hold more vegan markets in the future.
