Exhilarating high ropes on the way for Hull Adventure Centre

Visitors to Hull Adventure Centre will soon be able to enjoy an exhilarating new high ropes course.

Hull City Council has appointed High-Low Ropes Course Consulting Ltd to construct the latest offering at the multi-activity centre in east Hull.

The first planned stage will see a unique 20-pole high ropes course that will be incorporated over the karting track at Hull Adventure Centre to give an exclusive experience as people explore and undertake challenging obstacles in the air whilst karts race below them.

The course will culminate in a 100m zip line to provide an exciting experience for customers from spring 2025.

It will also have special additional team building facilities, including a Jacob’s Ladder and crate stack, to enable Hull Adventure Centre to work with a variety of different groups from across the community including schools, youth groups, the voluntary sector and businesses.

This will provide a fun and exciting way to get people outdoors and involved in exercise, as well as helping to build teamwork, leadership, collaboration, communication, problem solving and trust.

It is the latest addition to Hull Adventure Centre’s portfolio following its rebrand in March which saw bubble ball football, tag archery and dodgeball introduced as it marked 20 years of Hull Karting.

John Haines, manager at Hull Adventure Centre, said: “It is fantastic news that an amazing new high ropes facility is on the way.

“We have been working on this project for the last two years and now we are finally ready to move into the build stage and we plan to be ready and raring to go for the summer season next year.

“It will be the first ever high ropes course in the world where you will be climbing and conquering the obstacles and zip lining along whilst karts race around below you!

“We cannot wait to be able to open this new facility as part of Hull Adventure Centre for the community of Hull, including schools, youth groups and business to all enjoy.”

Up to 12 job opportunities will also be created through the high ropes project.

Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for regeneration at the council, added: “This contract award is warmly welcomed and will only add to what is already a popular facility in Hull Adventure Centre.

“The high ropes will also diversify and widen the centre’s offering, in addition to bringing in revenue to support its activities in the future, as well as creating new job opportunities in the city.”

High-Low Ropes Course Consulting Ltd CEO, Ali Glendinning, said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded the tender to design and building the new high ropes course at Hull Adventure Centre.
