Multi-million-pound private investment to develop brownfield land

Almost £3 million of private funding is to be invested into Hull to develop brownfield sites, helping create news jobs in the city.

Four Hull businesses – Rainbow Professional Limited, Robert Sanderson and Sons, Venture Business Space and Adventure Resources Limited – will invest a combined £2.85 million.

This is being made possible through an additional £881,000 from the Brownfield Land Grant scheme, part of a £1.95 million funding pot allocated to Hull City Council by the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority.

The projects will help to deliver against the council’s corporate plan for 2024-28, which has an aim to create economic growth that works for all, by accelerating the delivery of sites across the city bringing new jobs and investment with it.

Cllr Jackie Dad, deputy leader of the council and responsible for citywide regeneration delivery, said: “The Brownfield Land Grant scheme will support significant private sector investment and job creation in Hull, exactly what it is supposed to do.

“It is doubly pleasing that the grant scheme has been able to support four Hull businesses and their projects to help to regenerate our city’s economy.”
