As part of the Older People’s Partnership, Hull City Council will be supporting and celebrating Older People’s Week (Monday 28 September – Friday 1 October) with a programme of fun activities, entertainment, and information events.
The events will include a series of activities and entertainment to celebrate and showcase the contributions that older people are making to our local community and society today and the positive impact that cultural activities can have on health and wellbeing, reducing loneliness and isolation in our aging population.

Cllr Lunn continues ‘’ It’s a fantastic opportunity for local and national organisations from the voluntary/community/private and public sector to raise awareness of their services which older people can access’’.
The Older People’s Celebration events are to be held on:
- Tuesday 28 September – Cottingham Civic Hall: 10am – 4pm
- Wednesday 29 September – Hessle Town Hall: 10am – 4pm
- Thursday 30 September – Hull Guildhall: 10am – 4pm
- Friday 1 October – Hull Guildhall: 10am – 4pm
There is also a Hull and East Riding’s Got Talent event which is to be held on Thursday 30 September from 6.30pm until late at Hull Guildhall. It’s £2 per ticket and you can apply by calling 07976 607 058.
The Older People’s Partnership welcomes as many people as possible to join in the celebrations and to build on the success of previous years events.
