Hull’s annual Citizens Air Raid Memorial Service will take place next month.
The commemorative service will be held from 2pm on Tuesday 9th May in Northern Cemetery on Chanterlands Avenue.
Led by the Reverend Stephen Whalley, members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend.
Also in attendance will be representatives from Hull City Council, the emergency services, voluntary sector, Standard Bearers and the Armed Forces, all to remember those lost or injured during conflict.
The service poignantly aims to remember those lost during particularly terrible air raids in Hull over the 7, 8 and 9 May 1941.
This year, a new memorial and remembrance area will be revealed to commemorate those buried in mass graves in Northern Cemetery where over 300 men, women and children were buried in unmarked mass graves.
Lest we ever forget.
