110th Lord Mayor takes on role for the year

The new Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber, Councillor Kalvin Neal, has been installed at a ceremony at the Guildhall today.

Councillor Neal was elected at a Full Council meeting on Thursday 18 May, as Lord Mayor for the city for the 2023/2024 mayoral year.

The installation ceremony took place at 11am today in the council chamber at the Guildhall, where the current Lord Mayor, Councillor Christine Randall, handed over the chain to the new Lord Mayor. 

The Lady Mayoress is Councillor Tracey Neal.

The new Lord Mayor announced the charities he will support during their time in office as Dove House Hospice and Hull 4 Heroes.

This year’s Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress make up a group of six current serving councillor couples in the Lord Mayor and Mayoress/consort roles. With the outgoing Lord Mayor and consort Mr and Mrs Randall, and Deputy Lord Mayor and Mayoress Mr and Mrs John and Sarita Robinson next in line for the positions.
