A fantastic night of 60s + 70s music in Hull will raise money for the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities.
It will take place at the New Walton Club on Walton Street on Thursday 13 November, with tickets costing just £5 per person.
The fun will start at 7:30pm, where attendees can also enjoy bingo and a raffle.

The Lord Mayor, Councillor Cheryl Payne, has shared some pictures from her own collection from the 60s + 70s. She is pictured above celebrating her 21st birthday in 1977 (c/o Cheryl Payne).
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Cheryl Payne, said: “I’m really looking forward to this event, where we hope we can pack the place, have a dance, and raise some money.
“We’ve got some fabulous singers lined up for the evening, who’ll be belting out all the hits from an amazing era for music, and I’m really grateful that they and the venue are offering their services free of charge.”
Some of the Lord Mayor’s favourite songs from the 60s and 70s:
- The Beatles – We Can Work It Out
- The Animals – The House of the Rising Sun
- The Troggs – Wild Thing
- Deep Purple – Smoke on the Water
- Queen – We Are The Champions
The Lord Mayor continued: “My toes are tapping now as I think about the music from back then – The Beatles, Abba, Diana Ross and the Supremes, but also the harder rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
“I’d love to see people coming along in their 60s and 70s gear – whether as a mod, beatnik, punk rocker or whatever – and I’m sure we’ll see plenty of bright shirts, flared trousers, and platform shoes!”

Proceeds from the night will go to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund, which this year is benefitting STAND and One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire.
