Record numbers attend Employment Hub’s Recruitment Event

The Recruitment Event hosted by Hull City Council’s Employment Hub was a huge success as record numbers of prospective employees were in attendance.

Over 650 people visited The Guildhall on Thursday 19 October to discover opportunities available to them in the city.

Some even managed to secure an interview with Hull businesses, whilst another signed up to the army on the day.

Gill Brownlee, Employment Hub manager, said: “Yesterday was a huge success and we welcomed over 650 prospective employees, which is our best number to date.

“I spoke to so many people who said it was an exceptional event and that they benefitted from attending.

“One lady told me she had signed up to the army there and then, whilst another had secured an interview with one of the companies who were in attendance.

“It’s fantastic to hear stories like these and it’s all part of why we host these recruitment drives.”
