Panto is back in Hull … oh, yes it is! Well, that’s enough of that.
It’s time to dust off the dames because this year’s musical, farcical offerings include the family classic Aladdin, a retelling of Peter Pan set in post-war Hull and a rock and roll take on the Little Mermaid.

1. Aladdin

Aladdin, his brother Wishee Washee and his mother Widow Twankey are joined by flying carpets, a wish-granting genie, an evil sorcerer and plenty of festive magic. The last post day for tickets is Friday 20 December. Buy tickets here.

3. The Little Mermaid

Hull’s rock and roll panto is back – and this year it’s extra fishy. Join hero Ariel on a riotous adventure to the surface of the Humber as she swashbuckles her way to saving the seafaring (Steve) Prince. Will Hull’s favourite panto dame, Pattie Breadcake, be crowned Queen of the Humber? Or will the evil witch, Ursula, seize the throne?

Jonathan Parker of BBC Radio Humberside’s Westenders is bringing his latest One Off Productions show to Cottingham’s Civic Hall this Christmas. This magical family adventure is based on elements of these two traditional tales.
