Hull City Council’s Leisure & Family Support Service (LAFSS) has been given £700 by St Marys and St Pauls Churches in Hull.
Parishioners, along with members of Blokes United, a men’s mental health group, have raised the money to help local children.
The donation will go towards purchasing Christmas presents for children who attend LAFSS, as well as towards purchasing new equipment for the children and young people that attend LAFSS.
Heather Barnes, Integrated Service Manager at Hull City Council, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to all at St Marys and St Pauls Churches for their kind donation. This will help us to give presents to children who are in need this Christmas and I know it will mean a lot to each of those children.
“I’m also very grateful that we will be able to purchase new equipment for children who attend LAFASS, for them to use in the New Year.”
