Council seeks partner to develop cultural plan for young people

Kids holiday camps and activities are back this Christmas

Hull City Council is seeking an experienced cultural consultant, organisation or consortium to develop a Children & Young People’s Culture & Heritage Plan, covering the life course from pregnancy to 25 years.

This ambitious new plan will sit alongside the Hull Culture & Heritage Strategy 2025–2030 and support Hull’s status as a UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities member. The work will bring together existing research, consultations and citywide strategies to create a clear, practical framework showing how culture and heritage can support development, wellbeing, learning, aspiration and creative futures for all children and young people in Hull.

The commissioned partner will shape a fully designed public‑facing plan, incorporating best‑practice case studies, practical guidance for schools and youth services, and clear recommendations for delivering meaningful cultural access at every stage of childhood and early adulthood.

Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said: “The Children & Young People’s Culture & Heritage Plan is a major opportunity to help influence Hull’s long-term cultural transformation, strengthen creative pathways for young people, and support the city’s commitment to inclusive lifelong learning.”
