The coronations of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort will be shown on two big screens in Hull, thanks to funding from the government.

The screens will be situated on City Hall balcony and in Trinity Market and act as a focal points for the celebration weekend.

Leader of Hull City Council, Cllr Mike Ross said:

“I’m delighted Hull has been selected to host screens for this momentous occasion.

“The coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort will be a huge moment in history, not just in the UK, but across the world, and it’s fantastic news that we will be able to invite our residents to come together to celebrate in the city centre.

“I know we have some exciting event plans coming together for the bumper bank holiday weekend and I look forward to revealing all very soon.”
