Dedicated volunteers across the Humber region will be recognised at the Time2Volunteer Awards this autumn.
The awards, run by Hull-based HEY Smile Foundation, is a special event acknowledging and celebrating all volunteers throughout the area, saying thank you to those who give their time to help others.
Time2Volunteer is a partnership and website that links volunteers with opportunities to work with charities and groups.
It is delivered by Hull CVS, HEY Smile Foundation, Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Hull City Council has provided further support through a £2,000 allocation of the Leader’s contingency budget to purchase banners, awards, badges and cover printing costs.
Cllr Mike Ross, leader of the council, said: “The Time2Volunteer Awards are always a wonderful occasion and an opportunity to recognise local volunteers.
“Without volunteers, charities cannot function, so it is only right that they receive the accolades they deserve.
“I am pleased that the council is able to support the awards and look forward to when this year’s winners are announced.”
The HEY Smile Foundation is a local charity, established in Hull in 2009, whose core purpose is to unlock potential in charities, helping them move from dependence to resilience.
It delivers vital programmes and services that support the voluntary sector across Hull and East Yorkshire by bringing ideas, people and resources together, to find sector wide solutions to the challenges charitable organisations face.
The foundation also provides one-to-one support to charities and groups, giving them the knowledge and tools to develop.
The fifth running of the Time2Volunteer Awards will take place on Thursday 5 October at Double Tree Hilton, Hull.
