Appeal to Find Good Samaritans

Through the power of social media, we are hoping we can reach the lovely people who came to the rescue and saved one of our children last week.

At 16.26hrs on Thursday 9th March whilst one of our foster carers was driving along Ings Road, Hull in her brown coloured Peugeot Traveller, the 20 month old toddler she was caring for suddenly became unwell, turning blue and appeared to be fitting in the back for her car.

Our foster carer Donna immediately stopped the car in the road and tried to flag passing motorists to assist her.

An off-duty policewoman and her husband immediately came to their aid, taking the lead in providing vital medical intervention.

Despite the rain pouring down, the couple kindly laid their coats on the floor, made a makeshift cushion for the 20-month-old to lay on and carried out life-saving medical intervention.

Many others also stopped and assisted, some calling for an ambulance and offering our foster carer and the toddler support.

When the ambulance arrived, the unknown off-duty policewoman even took Donna’s own 10-year-old daughter home, where an adult was waiting, but left without sharing her details.

Our foster carer does not use social media and has asked us to reach out on her behalf to try and locate the people, especially the off-duty policewoman and her husband, to thank them for the assistance they provided at a very distressing time.

Donna and everyone at Hull Fostering would like to thank everyone who stopped and helped.

The little boy was taken to the hospital and is receiving medical care.

The people of Hull you are truly amazing!

Please share this post to reach the people who helped.
