Residents in the Avenues ward have the opportunity to go to the polls today in a city council by-election.
The candidates in today’s by-election are:
- Rhiannon Beeson (Liberal Democrats)
- Alex Hayward (Conservative)
- James Russell (Green)
- Michael Whale (Independent)
- Karen Wood (Labour)
The ward covers an area including Pearson Park, Chanterlands Avenue, part of Spring Bank West and Princes Avenue.
Polling stations will be open between 7am and 10pm and voters will be required to bring a valid form pf photographic ID or a Voter Authority Certificate in order to cast their vote. Valid forms of ID can be found here.
The count will take place immediately after polls close, in the Guildhall.
