Hull Libraries are hosting one of their spellbinding Wizarding nights for grownups only.

Wizards and witches invited to a night of magic at Hull Libraries’ Grownups Wizarding Night

Calling all wizards and witches of Hull! – Hull Libraries are celebrating their 10th year of hosting Wizarding Nights for families by introducing an extra night for adults only.

All wizards and witches are invited to join them for an enchanting evening of magic on Saturday 22 February, 5.00pm – 8.15pm at Hull Central Library, Albion Street, Hull, HU1 3TF.

Magical activities on offer include:

  • A magical sorting ceremony
  • Meeting birds of prey
  • Animal handling
  • Illustrations with Eleanor Tomlinson, famous for her Jubilee Ma’amalade Tea illustration
  • Talks on various magical subjects, including witch trials in Hull
  • Create your own witches’ herbal spell bottles
  • Magical Bingo
  • Virtual reality headsets
  • Screen printing
  • Air dry pottery
  • Creative writing
  • Chess
  • Wand making
  • Various crafts

Cocktail making and flower arranging are also available as optional add-on activities for an additional cost.

Tickets cost £10 each (tickets for disabled adults include a free carer’s ticket) and can be booked via Hull Libraries’ Eventbrite page.

Hull Libraries’ Wizarding nights are always a hit, so make sure to book as soon possible to avoid disappointment.

This event is 18+ only. The bar will be selling alcohol, so ID will be checked.

The portfolio holder for culture and leisure at Hull City Council, Councillor Rob Pritchard, said: “Hull Libraries’ Wizarding Nights for families have been a staple in Hull’s events calendar for many years now, so it’s wonderful that Hull Libraries are celebrating their 10th year of magical mayhem by introducing an additional, brand new Wizarding Night just for grownups.

“With an amazing range of magic-themed activities, including: talks about witch trials in Hull, virtual reality headsets, meeting birds of prey, and brewing your own cocktails, it’s bound to be a spellbinding evening for the local community!”
