Hull City Council has invited Little Amal to come to Hull as part of her journey across Europe to find safety and freedom. She will be meeting and greeting people in Pearson Park on Sunday 22 September between 12 noon and 12.45 pm.
Little Amal is a 3.5 metres high puppet representation of a ten-year-old girl who is fleeing from her home in Syria. Since starting her journey, Little Amal has become a global symbol for supporting refugees and has met over a million people.
She draws particular attention to the plight of child refugees escaping war, violence, and persecution who often have to travel without their families. For more information about Little Amal and her journey go to walkwithamal.org
During the Little Amal event, Pearson Park will be alive with music, dancing, arts, crafts, food stands, community information and support stands.
Before Little Amal departs Pearson Park there will be a presentation of gifts to help her on her journey.
