New series of adult art workshops at Ferens Art Gallery

The Ferens Art Gallery has launched the first of an exciting series of adult art and craft workshops, starting this week (Saturday 13 September).

Whether you’re keen to explore new creative skills or revisit something you have enjoyed before, with expert guidance these new workshops offer a unique and enriching day out to remember in one of the city’s most beautiful buildings.

All workshops will be held in the Create Gallery, a brand-new dedicated workshop studio space located in the heart of the Ferens Art Gallery. This purpose-built studio is designed to foster creativity, providing the perfect setting for artistic exploration.

The first series of artist led workshops offer the chance to try different printmaking techniques, create your own Bradel bound book from scratch, or work with award-winning artist Erin Ledsom to design and stitch your own small fabric charms using embroidery, appliqué and embellishments.

Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said: “Ferens Art Gallery is an inspirational space for any budding artists and enthusiasts. These workshops add a new and exciting opportunity for people to get creative and enjoy learning new skills.”

David Alcock, Learning Manager for Hull Museums, said: “We’re delighted to offer people the chance to work with a range of talented artists delivering exciting workshops in the brand-new dedicated space in the Ferens Art Gallery.”

Workshops begin this weekend. Visit the Ferens Art Gallery website to browse the full schedule, learn more about each workshop and book a place.
