The Lord Mayor's Charity Ball will take place at the Guildhall in Hull

Learn to dance Bridgerton-style at Lord Mayor’s Charity Ball!

The Lord Mayor has enlisted the help of a dance tutor for his Bridgerton-themed Charity Ball.

Heidi Dodson will teach Regency-era dancing at the event, which takes place at the Guildhall in Hull on Friday 9 May.

Kingswood-based Heidi is the head of the company that bears her name, which in addition to dance lessons also offers counselling and coaching.

She said: “I’m honoured to have been asked to teach guests to dance at the Bridgerton Ball.

“The Lord Mayor’s chosen charities – Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s Universityand Cruse Bereavement Support – are close to my heart.

“By giving children the best start and supporting people’s mental health, each day can feel a bit better.”

Heidi, below, will take dancers through two songs on the night, which will be simple and easy for guests to follow.

The Lord Mayor, Councillor Mark Collinson, said: “I very much look forward to meeting Heidi and seeing if I can improve my dance steps with her help.

“If she can get me to look good on the dance floor then she’ll be a magician – but we’ll give it a good go!”

Admission to the Ball along with a 3-course meal is available for £40 per person.

The Bridgerton-themed night will start at 7pm, and attendees are asked to dress in their finest attire.

All proceeds will go to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund.

Tickets can be booked through the Civic Office, via civic.office@hullcc.gov.uk
