With the coronation of King Charles III fast approaching, Hull City Council is inviting communities to apply to hold street parties in their neighbourhood.
Residents are able to apply for a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) up until Thursday 6 April, meaning they can close the road to traffic and fill it with tables, chairs, games and decorations for families to enjoy.
Councillor Rob Pritchard, Portfolio Holder for Communities said:
“The coronation of His Majesty King Charles III is an opportunity for communities to come together and celebrate such a historic day.
“We would love to see our communities coming together and celebrating right across the city.
“It has been almost 70 years since the country last celebrated a royal coronation and we hope it will be one all our residents will remember.”
Applications are invited across the coronation bank holiday weekend from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 May and are free.
