Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favourite wedding singer and life of the party, then he gets jilted at the alter. Devastated Robbie vows to make every wedding as disastrous as his own. Hull’s own Lucy Beaumont, the hugely talented comedy actress and writer, is taking a quick break from a successful tour of the capital to return to her roots and perform in nearby Beverley.

The creator and star of BBC Radio 4 sitcom To Hull and Back, which also stars Maureen Lipman and Norman Lovett, is currently displaying what The Stage described as “devastating comic timing” to London’s stand-up circuit. Get tickets for her East Riding gig here.

This exploration of the tradition of Hull Fair is told through sculpture, performance and installation.

Reflecting on urban folklore as well as past and present notions of mass festivity, this exhibition considers the city’s medieval era when the fair was started and when the city of Hull was one of the main sites for international imports to the UK. Find more details here here.

5. Anlaby Park Community Fun Day

A community fun day filled with children’s activities, face-painting, a classic motorbike display and dog show.
