Essential roadworks to begin in Gillshill Road

Work to resurface Gillshill Road will begin next week.

The work will take place from Cavendish Road to Whitethorn Way on Monday 8 February.

Traffic management will be in place, with motorists diverted via James Reckitt Avenue, Lambwath Road and Cayton Road.  In the other direction it’s Sutton Road, Lambwath Road and Cayton Road.

Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways at Hull City Council, said: “We are carrying out this work in line with the February half-term in a bid to minimise disruption to motorists, however this work is necessary, and we apologise for any delays.

“We ask that motorists are patient while we carry out these essential repairs.”

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times and bus services will be diverted.

The work is being carried out by Wright Civil Engineering Ltd and will take three weeks to complete.
