A civic funeral service for Honorary Alderman David Gemmell will take place next week.
The former Lord Mayor died in March, at the age of 83.
The service will take place at Hull Minster on Friday 10 May at 10am, where all are welcome.
A civic procession will take place beforehand, travelling from the Guildhall to the Minster, which will be led by the current Lord Mayor, Councillor Kalvin Neal.
Honorary Alderman Gemmell served as a Councillor for 26 years, and was Lord Mayor between 2010 and 2011.
His achievements included opening the Hull History Centre in 2010, and serving on its board for 4 years.
Among his other appointments, he served on the boards of Hull Truck Theatre and the Humber Bridge Board.
But it is, perhaps, his part in helping to create The Deep, which now has iconic status, that he will be best remembered for, bringing the hugely successful attraction to the city and playing a huge part in its successful development.
He was awarded his OBE in 2005 for services to tourism, and received the honour at Buckingham Palace.
