What’s on in Hull – June 2025

It’s finally here, June, the month when summer officially starts in the UK. Here’s a list of just a few things taking place in a, hopefully, sunny Hull this month.

Armed Forces Day

Queen Victoria Square, Saturday 28 June

Armed Forces Day takes place at the end of this month, with events up and down the country.

In Hull, Queen Victoria Square will host various events and activities including military attractions, face painting and live music.

Grow Festival 2025

Hull Truck Festival, Tuesday 24 June until Friday 4 July

Grow Festival is a showcase of new and contemporary theatre, workshops, sharing and networking events – for local artists and audiences.

Nick Mohammed is Mr. Swallow: Show Pony

Hull City Hall, Friday 6 June

Top comic and Ted Lasso’s favourite football coach (arguably) heads to Hull this month with his new show.

After a sell-out 2023 UK tour and extended run in London’s West End, Taskmaster loser Nick Mohammed returns as his critically acclaimed alter-ego Mr. Swallow with a brand-new show.

The Big Malarkey Festival 2025

The Big Malarkey Festival is Hull’s premiere children’s literature festival, brought to you by Hull Libraries and funded by the James Reckitt Library Trust and Arts Council England.

The Big Malarkey Festival is a celebration of children’s literature for everyone aged 0 – 16 years. The Festival includes amazing artists, authors, illustrators, performers, poets, writers, musicians, makers, dancers and dreamers.
