Essential maintenance works on Inglemire Lane will take place on Monday 2 until Sunday 15 October.
Inglemire Lane will be closed to through traffic between Oldstead Avenue and Cranbrook Avenue to allow these essential carriageway maintenance works to be carried out.
Councillor Alan Clark, portfolio holder with responsibility for Streetscene, said:
The two week closure is essential so that the works can be carried out thoroughly in order to improve the condition of the road, and ensure the highway provides a safe and even surface for traffic with adequate grip and skid resistance.
The improvements have been timed so that Newland Avenue will be open whilst these works take place.
We ask that motorists are patient and apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during the period of the works.
The signed diversion route will be via Hall Road, Endike Lane and Cranbrook Avenue, or Hall Road, and Cottingham Road and Cranbrook Avenue. Access for residents and pedestrians will be maintained.
Advance warning signs will be displayed for motorists and access will be maintained at all times for emergency service vehicles, however scheduled bus services will be diverted during the hours of the closures.
