Hull City Council has appointed Nicholas Harne as its new Assistant Director for Neighbourhoods and Housing.
Nic takes over from Dave Richmond, who has left the authority to join St Leger Homes in Doncaster as chief executive.
Nic has an excellent track record in housing development and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience relating to environmental matters and strategic planning.
He has spent the past 12 years working at the Hull City Council, most recently as Head of Housing Strategy, Market Intervention and Growth, overseeing the delivery of the city’s most ambitious housing regeneration programme for a generation.
Through innovative partnerships with developers, he has managed the delivery of more than 2,649 new homes, which is almost double the target set for the city by the Government.
Councillor John Black, Portfolio Holder for Housing said, “These are challenging times for housing and, with Nic’s leadership and experience we will maintain strong partnerships with housing developers to provide new, much needed affordable housing in the city and remain on track with improving our service, responding promptly to our tenants’ needs and doing all we can to prevent homelessness.”
