Children that are looked after by Hull City Council are to receive laptops following a donation from Hull Esteem Consortium.
A donation of £10,000 for the purchase of 20 laptops for children in the city has been made by Dalmore Capital, the majority stakeholder in the Esteem Consortium.
The devices are to be given to young people in care who are not in receipt of a device through any other scheme.
Councillor Peter Clark, portfolio holder for learning, skills and safeguarding children, said: “We are very grateful to Esteem and in particular Dalmore Capital for their generous donation. This will mean a great deal to each of the children who receive a laptop, which will mean they can continue their learning and participate in online lessons.”
Children receiving the laptops will also benefit from being able to improve their IT skills.
