More than £38 million in grant funding has been paid to Hull businesses suffering due to coronavirus.
Hull City Council has identified 4,341 businesses in the city that are eligible for the grants.
So far, 3,446 companies have been paid a combined £38.5 million – which is 79.4 per cent of those eligible businesses.
This puts Hull in the top 30 of more than 300 UK local authorities for delivery of grant support.
The online form allowing businesses in Hull to apply for grant funding went live at the beginning of April.
Councillor Daren Hale, deputy leader of Hull City Council, said: “Our business support teams have done a fantastic job to make sure these vital funds reach businesses in the city that might need the funding to remain operational.
“These figures show Hull is one of the top performing local authorities in the country for the delivery of the Government grants. This will hopefully put the city in an excellent position to recover from the economic effects of the pandemic as quickly as possible.
“We continue to work to resolve 100 per cent of the claims as quickly as we can.”
