It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Hull as festive fun, markets and pantomimes are already dominating diaries for families in the city.
This weekend, we have circled a Christmas market, a chance to see a classic fairytale and a musical masterpiece in our calendars.
Here are 5 things to do in Hull this weekend.
1. A Festive Fruit Market Christmas

An evening of yuletide festivities in the Fruit Market, Humber Street with lights, carols, festive trees and fairy trails, plus storytelling and a saxophone rave by comedy duo Jeddy Bear and Gary, as well as a capella carols from the Human Jukebox Choir.
The Christmas tree lights will be officially switched on at 6pm, with the launch of the Enchanted Wonderland show. Read more here.

Following the huge success of last year’s Oliver Twist, writer Deborah McAndrew returns with an adaptation of JM Barrie’s story with original music, singing, dancing, flying and a generous sprinkle of fairy dust. Get tickets here.
3. Get Festive!

The city’s Streetlife, Wilberforce House, Hull and East Riding and Hands on History Museums in the Old Town are starting the Christmas celebrations with this free event.

4. Trinity After Dark: Vegan Market
