Children in Hull will be asked to become city planners and architects in a major new project from Absolutely Cultured.
Model City will see children from three primary schools take part in a series of workshops to explore relationships with cities.
The project, supported by NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group, will take place in October and November – culminating in an outdoor event in the city centre in February next year.
It will ask children to decide how we live, what our cities and spaces will look like and how we interact with them.

Design collective RESOLVE will work with the children during autumn term on workshops and interactive sessions in the city centre to stimulate and capture their observations and aspirations for the future.
The project will be recorded by Ivor Novello Award-winning sound artist Dan Jones, who will bring the work to life in a large multi-speaker soundscape installed in the city centre in February.
Lindsay Stockley, senior producer at Absolutely Cultured, said: “The workshops with children will empower them to shape the project and give them a voice about their city. They will learn about how things work in cities today and will explore their dreams and aspirations of how the city will be in the future.”
