Snooker star Jimmy White is in Hull tomorrow for this year’s draw of the UK Seniors Snooker Championship.
White will be joined by fellow legends including James Wattana, Stephen Hendry, John Parrott, Dennis Taylor and Willie Thorne at the tournament at the Bonus Arena in Hull on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 October.
White said: “I am delighted to be coming to Hull as the current World Champion and eager to get another leg of the Seniors triple crown.
“We had some fantastic crowds last year. Hull has a real history of good snooker players and leagues. I am really looking forward to it.”
Fans are invited to the draw at Princes Quay shopping centre at 11am tomorrow, where they will have the opportunity to meet White for photos and autographs.
Councillor Dave Craker, portfolio holder for culture, leisure and tourism at Hull City Council, said: “The championship was incredibly popular last year so it is fantastic that it has returned to Hull in 2019, as we aim to establish ourselves as a city that supports and promotes the great game of snooker.
“With legends of the game such as Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry and Dennis Taylor all taking part this year, I am sure it will once again be a great spectacle for snooker and sport fans.”
